Binance Academy, the educational arm of Binance offering open-access learning in blockchain and cryptocurrency, has partnered with Pakistan’s Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) to launch a nationwide blockchain education initiative. This strategic collaboration aims to equip 300 educators and reach 80,000 students across 20 universities in Pakistan by 2026.
The initiative focuses on enabling professors with the necessary tools and knowledge to deliver blockchain-centric education, thereby creating a ripple effect that will foster talent across Pakistan’s leading academic institutions. The goal is to build a robust pipeline of blockchain-savvy professionals, ready to contribute to both local innovation and the broader global tech ecosystem.
This effort is part of the broader Global University Outreach Program (GUOP)—the world’s largest Web3 education initiative—developed by Binance Academy in partnership with the Blockchain & AI Technology Center (BAITC). The program’s mission is to embed blockchain education within university curricula worldwide, promoting capacity building through open-source education, industry partnerships, and professional certifications.
Bader Al Kalooti, MEASA Head of Growth and Operations at Binance, stated:
“As blockchain reshapes the global economy, it’s essential to equip people with the right skills. Our partnership with Pakistan’s Ministry of IT and Telecom is a major step in building a future-ready workforce capable of leveraging blockchain technology for innovation and economic growth.”
The initiative also aligns with the digital vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, as emphasized by Minister of IT & Telecom, Shaza Fatima Khawaja:
“This collaboration represents a milestone in Pakistan’s journey toward digital transformation. Partnering with Binance and BAITC enables us to prepare our students for the evolving global digital economy, while also contributing to national growth and positioning Pakistan as a hub of blockchain talent.”
The partnership underscores Binance’s long-term commitment to responsible and regulated blockchain development. By working closely with government stakeholders, Binance aims to foster a secure digital environment and support the emergence of tech-savvy youth leaders.
Since 2022, Binance Academy has trained over 3,000 students across 13 universities in three provinces of Pakistan, helping to build foundational Web3 skills.
The Global University Outreach Program, which began with a pilot in Kazakhstan in 2023, now spans over 20 countries and targets more than 200 universities in 50+ countries, with the ambitious aim of educating over one million students globally by 2026.
