Dubai, UAE – Imbono has officially launched as a global investor-operator platform, bringing together Gemcorp ICS and Gemcorp Angola into a single, fully integrated entity. The platform is designed to finance, execute, and operate strategic projects across emerging markets, with a strong focus on long-term impact.
Headquartered in Dubai, Imbono is positioning itself as a key player in building and managing essential infrastructure and services. With regional hubs across emerging economies, the company aims to deliver projects that support economic development while improving access to critical goods and services. Its long-term vision is ambitious—reaching and positively impacting over 100 million people by 2040.
Strengthening Presence in Dubai
As part of its expansion strategy in the Middle East, Imbono is significantly scaling its operations in Dubai. The company plans to relocate its office at DIFC Square, increasing its footprint from 4,435 sq. ft. to 11,538 sq. ft. Additionally, it aims to hire more than 40 professionals in 2026, reinforcing Dubai as its central operational hub for regional and global activities.
Marcus Weyll, CEO of Imbono, highlighted the importance of Dubai in the company’s growth strategy. He emphasized the UAE’s stability, forward-looking policies, and global connectivity as key factors aligning with Imbono’s long-term, partnership-driven approach.
A Platform Built for Long-Term Impact
Imbono’s business model reflects a multi-decade investment horizon, similar to the UAE’s long-term development vision. The company leverages the Middle East’s strong economic ties with Africa, along with Dubai’s strategic position connecting Latin America, Asia, Africa, Central Asia, and Eastern Europe.
Through its partnership with Gemcorp Capital, Imbono combines global financial resources with operational expertise, ensuring that projects are not only funded but also successfully delivered and sustainably managed.
Over the past decade, the group has deployed approximately $8.7 billion across 25 countries, building a strong track record in sectors such as food security, energy, water infrastructure, and social services.
