This strategic acquisition strengthens Proofpoint’s position in the SMB and MSP markets globally, combining its world-class threat intelligence and human-centric security approach with Hornetsecurity’s deep MSP ecosystem expertise and strong presence across Europe.
Hornetsecurity currently generates over $160 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR), with 20%+ year-over-year growth and performance above the Rule of 60—highlighting its strong market demand and operational excellence. The company serves over 125,000 SMBs and 12,000+ MSPs and channel partners, delivering a comprehensive portfolio of M365 security solutions through its flagship product, 365 Total Protection.
Synergistic Value for MSPs and SMBs
With M365 being a key operational platform—and a primary target for cyberattacks—the integration of Proofpoint and Hornetsecurity will deliver enhanced, AI-powered protection across email, cloud applications, and digital channels. The acquisition enables MSPs to access a multi-tenant, unified platform offering advanced email security, backup, access control, domain fraud protection, and security awareness tools.
