WaHa Secures $8 Million in Series A-1 Funding to Expand Pure Water Access in UAE and GCC

(WaHa), a climate-tech innovator addressing global water scarcity, has successfully closed an $8 million Series A-1 funding round alongside a corporate reorganization. The round was led by Chairman Mike Phillips and Board Member Christian Thirion, with backing from key investors such as the Berkeley Catalyst Fund, Anthropocene Institute, Vestafund, and Mitsui Mining & Smelting Co., Ltd.
This fresh round of capital marks a strategic turning point for WaHa. The funding eliminates all outstanding debt, simplifies the company’s cap table, and equips it with the financial resources needed to scale operations and reach critical commercial milestones. It also sets the stage for the company’s next fundraising round while strengthening its presence across the UAE and the wider GCC region.
WaHa’s patented atmospheric water generation (AWG) technology has demonstrated remarkable success during field trials at Khalifa University and in some of the world’s harshest climates—including the UAE desert, West Texas, Riyadh, and Stockholm. Despite extreme conditions like sandstorms, low humidity, and intense heat, WaHa’s systems have delivered 99.998% mechanical reliability and achieved 98.3% of targeted water production—an unmatched record in the AWG space.
The company’s flagship innovation, the WaHa Vaporator®, is a modular, energy-efficient system designed for off-grid deployment and seamless integration with HVAC and agricultural systems. With 18 global patents across 14 patent families, the WaHa Vaporator® is setting new benchmarks in sustainable water solutions.
WaHa is preparing to unveil its first commercially available AWG unit at WETEX 2025 in Dubai (September 30 – October 2), where it will showcase its offerings to utilities, developers, and industrial clients focused on reliable and sustainable water sourcing.
